Case Summary
In a remote large-scale open-pit copper-gold mine in Papua Province, Indonesia, diesel generators have long been relied upon for off-grid power supply. The energy consumption for night lighting is extremely high, and the safety risks are prominent. Our company provided 10 GD7-M solar mobile beacons for the client, customizing larger-capacity batteries and a 4G remote monitoring module according to the actual needs of the mine.
After the project was delivered, the lighting in the mining area achieved a 90% reduction in fuel costs, zero carbon dioxide emissions, and uninterrupted and stable lighting throughout the year, effectively enhancing the safety of night operations. This case fully demonstrates our comprehensive capabilities in designing, deploying, and supporting heavy-duty solar lighting equipment in harsh mining environments in Indonesia.

Pure solar lighting duration:
With full battery charge, it can provide continuous lighting for more than 15 hours, fully covering the entire night shift.
Fast charging recovery:
Under the condition of abundant sunlight in Indonesia (with an average daily peak sunlight duration of approximately 4.8 - 6.5 hours), the battery can be fully charged within 4 - 6 hours.
Automatic mixing operation:
When the battery power drops below 20%, the generator automatically starts (with programmable settings), or it can be manually intervened and started through the 4G remote system.
90,000 lm LED Lighting:
4 x 150W LED lamp heads, total luminous flux of 90,000 lm, coverage area over 5,000 square meters.
All-weather adaptability:
IP67 protection grade, wind resistance up to 8 levels, operates normally after experiencing multiple heavy rainstorms during the mining area's rainy season, without water ingress or corrosion.
Remote maintenance:
The security manager can view the real-time power consumption, solar energy input, location and operation status of all beacons from their office using a computer or mobile phone, significantly reducing the number of inspections during the rainy season.
Application scenario
Ten GD7-M towers were deployed as follows: on the main transportation thoroughfares of the mining area (4 towers), in the loading area of the open-pit mine (3 towers), in the maintenance workshop and warehouse area (2 towers), and at the entrances and safety inspection stations of the mining area (1 tower). The 7-meter mast provides unshaded lighting, and the lamp heads can be adjusted within an angle range of 0-90 degrees, effectively illuminating the working area without causing glare. Workers reported a significant improvement in their night vision and a notable decrease in the number of traffic accidents. The mining area safety manager can complete all the operation status checks and lighting start/stop operations of the towers remotely via the 4G remote platform, even during the rainy season without leaving the house.
